Tom Chisholm | 2018 C-VILLE-athon Finisher
I was thrilled to take part in the 2018 Cville-athon. I do not look like a runner, I'm slightly overweight and a little clumsy. The best part about the Cville-athon events is none of that matters. The support and encouragement from the Charlottesville running community is incredible. Regardless of you ability or body type, running these races makes you feel like a superhero. Eighteen months ago I could barely make it through three miles. In November I finished my first marathon. I was able to reach this goal because of the wonderful people I have met at these races, and the advice I have received from coaches like Mark Lorenzoni and Theresa Bullock (Sarge).
My favorite race in the Cville-athon is actually one I didn't run. I was a volunteer at the Women's 4 Miler. This race is a great example of our running community. The excitement is infectious. Everyone involved is committed to helping each person achieve their goals. I would encourage anyone to take part in the Cville-athon. There is no better way to achieve your goals while helping local nonprofits achieve their goals. |
