RONI JENNINGS | C-VILLE-athon Streakers
I am proud to be a Streaker!
When I moved back to C'ville, I set a goal to run one road race a month. My preference was always races for which my entry fee benefitted a non-profit organization helping the community. When the C-Ville-a-thon started in 2015, my race-a-month goal now had support to further promote opportunities to support the health, well-being, education, and compassion in our community. Every race I've run as part of the C-Ville-a-thon is special in its own way. The VIA 5K includes students in the VIA program and the friendly challenge of the Golden Stick. The Haven 8k, SHE 5k, and C10M take us through the downtown mall and city neighborhoods. The Pepsi 10K and the Sugar Hollow run allow the lovely views in the western part of the county. The 'Wattey' gives me the chance to appreciate the cross country races I watched my children run at Panorama Farms. The Monticello Classic gives me a chance to run around the grounds if Jefferson's home. All of the races include running friends I see from event to event, as well as the volunteers and race coordinators that make the events possible. I get to keep running AND support important work in my community. I've been encouraged and supported as I stretched to run longer races (C10M and half marathons!). Start your own streak this year- plenty of time to get 26.2 miles of races run! |
