Matt Bogusz | 2019 C-VILLE-athon Finisher

The C-VILLE-athon is a good way to spend a weekend morning, getting good exercise and visiting new places.

My favorite race is the Blue Ridge Burn because it’s a 100% trail run. It also has a surprising turn before the finish, which makes it fun to watch the finishers make a sharp turn and then it's over. It makes it impossible to sprint to the finish because you can't speed through the final turn.
 
The finish also all has a small hill that serves as a great vantage point for the 5k finishers to watch the 10k runners finish while waiting for the awards.
 
And the race directors have a good sense of humor. I finished 4th in my age group and then when my name was called I didn't get a medal, but thought I was going to get one.
 
I’m a Data Analyst that moved to Charlottesville in 2018. I’m proud of completing 53 5k to 6-mile races back in 2013 and now 14 2-mile to 5k races in 2019.
