Jessica Cue | 2019 C-VILLE-athon Finisher
Two years ago I never worked out outside of the gym, cardio was limited, and free weights were my go-to. Thanks to a great friend, an encouraging run squad, Champion Run Club, and the numerous non-profit races offered throughout the Charlottesville area that are part of Cvilleathon, I can proudly say I am now a runner and much more well-rounded, balanced athlete!
Since moving to Charlottesville in May 2012, the Cville Ten Miler was on my bucket list. I proudly crossed the finish line for the first time this year and that moment definitely stands out in my top 3 running accomplishments. It’s so hard truly picking a favorite, because they are all so special in their own way and get me motivated and out of bed on a Saturday morning! Thanks to the Cvilleathon I have pushed myself to new PR’s, made new friends, seen new places, won some pretty cool prizes, but above all, have supported the non-profit community of my town and learned about the causes that support and strengthen our city. I am now a Cvilleathon addict and couldn’t recommend it more! I wouldn’t be here without my friends and the running community for pushing me to my limits and keeping me going when I just wanted to retreat to weights in the gym. The Charlottesville running community is unique and welcoming and I could never imagine running anywhere else! |
