AUSTIN PALMORE | 2018 C-VILLE-athon Finisher
My favorite C-VILLE-athon race is the Charlottesville Ten Miler. The longer distance, challenging course, and large number of participants make it an exciting race to take part in. I also love the enthusiastic crowd support along the race course.
I would recommend the C-VILLE-athon to local runners because it is a great way to actively participate in the local running community. Not only is it a good goal to have throughout the year, but it provides an opportunity to run various distances and courses in the area. Most importantly, it is a lot of fun to complete! I have been living in Charlottesville for the past six and a half years: four of those years as a student at UVA, and two and a half of those years working as a Leasing Analyst for Apex Clean Energy, Inc. I began running and racing consistently after graduating from college, largely due to the strong running culture at Apex. While I am excited to have completed the C-VILLE-athon this year, my proudest running accomplishment is having run the Richmond Half Marathon this past fall, the first time I ever completed such a race at that distance. I enjoyed participating in the Charlottesville Track Club's training program for that race, which allowed me to achieve my goal time and remain injury-free in the process. I hope to continue running in local races, and complete additional half marathons in the future. |
